The best way to show your parents that you're becoming a responsible adult is NOT to act like a whiny, impatient two-year-old! They made the rules very clear, so you'd better start studying. Very soon (although it may SEEM like forever), you'll be out on your own and you can make your own rules - and pay the price for your mistakes.
BEFORE you get the dog, you should read some great books on training so you'll be prepared to take care of it properly. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com
Dog Training For Dummies - Volhard
What All Good Dogs Should Know - Volhard
Good Owners, Great Dogs - Brian Kilcommins
Dog Tricks : Eighty-Eight Challenging Activities for Your Dog from World-Class Trainers by Haggerty and Benjamin
Don't Shoot the Dog - Pryor
Training Your Dog: The Step by Step Method - Volhard
Dog Problems - Benjamin
Cesar's Way - Cesar Millan
Also, watch the Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel. Cesar Millan is the best trainer I've ever seen on TV.
Dogs require a lot of time, energy and money to take care of properly - that's a big added expense for your family. If the dog isn't properly trained, it can chew up your house and your stuff. If it's not housebroken, it can ruin your floors and your furniture. Your parents may assume that you'll get bored with the dog when you start playing sports and dating and go away to college. You can't keep a dog in a dorm or in most apartments. They don't want to be stuck taking care of a dog for 12 years if you can't handle it.
A good pup can cost $1000 or more. Even "free" dogs cost money to take care of. A crate, books and supplies can cost up to $300. Puppy shots are $200, then $100 a year for boosters. Annual Heartworm test and preventative medication $100. Professional trainer $600 and up. Going on vacation? Boarding kennel $40/day. Spaying? $250.

Wow talk about a spoiled brat, but seeing as your so sett on this I'd have my story written down or else it will back fire and not just will you loose the dog but you will be punished and your parents won't respect you. No the story doesn't sound to good If you put that the family is moving and this was the only puppy that wasn't sold and was left to you before you had much of a say. The mother death thing is too over done.

Well, if the puppy dog face does not work, just to more things around the house, be responisble, clean your room, make your bed in the morning, wash dishes, set the table, stuff like that. And make all A's, or like, to good on test. And then put it on the fridge. Don't pester them about it all the time, but you'll make progress, in there book that is. And if you act super responisble and if you have siblings don't argue with them, that'll boast it up. Let your parents know what kind of dog you want. So mabey before four months you'll find a little gift on your bed! I like labs and they are really good gogs. I have one named Zoey. But explain to them that you really think you should have a dog now and you think that you can take care of it. But if you bug them all the time about it, they'll wait longer, trust me I know.
good luck!!!!

know what?? it is NEVER a good idea to pressure your parents into buying you a live animal - reason -> because they will come to resent the animal and possibly get rid of it if their is even a tiny reason to do so.....
pets should be gained as FAMILY pets - otherwise what will happen to it if you fail to look after it - or when its time for you to go to College or move out and cannot find a place that allows dogs (very few places do)
so back off and wait, dont get a dog unless your parents actualy want one or this will be unfair to the dog....
NEVER NEVER buy from a pet store

Instead of buying a dog why not go to a shelter or a rescue with your parents and adopt one. A. It will show that you are responsible, B. they will fall in love with one just like you will and c. You will be saving two lives by adopting one... the one you take home and the next one that will live there as it is saved.

show them that you can be responsible for the dog.. then drive them crazy about getting a dog then when they have had enough about hearing about they may just give in! LOL but make sure you follow through and take care of it.

Why not use the fact that it is summer to your advantage? Right now, you have more time to spend with a new pet, and it is very important to have alot of time for the pet in the first few months. If you are getting a puppy, you have time right now to potty train and stay up with it if it whines.

best get your dog now while ther weather is nice, better for getting it trained outside. and you could walk the dog after school everyday for a break for you both, before you start your homework
