Do you understand how serious the illegal invasion is to the United States or do you dismiss it as something just happening to the southern border states and that it will never affect you? Do you think you will change your mind in about 5 years when you see the world around you changing?

I'm not talking about immigrants. The problem is illegals. ILLEGALS. I guess people still don't get it.

I am living on the east coast, and I have always understood the problem. It is scarey for sure! I confess, I live in Flori-duh... The problem of illegal immigration, and even legal immigration, is really prominent there. It used to be only one Spanish-speaking tv station, for example, and now they have, what? three? So they used to force themselves to watch tv in English so maybe they could learn our language -- now they don't have to! It is true that many of them hold jobs we wouldn't hold because of the lousy pay, but employers would have to pay more to get us to do it. Check out who is fighting for "rights for illegal aliens," and you will see it is usually employers. By now, we know all of this goes on and on -- that they send their money to their countries to take care of their poverty-stricken families, yoda yoda yoda...

This issue has only ONE sollution, and we are not handling it!

I live in New York City--a city that has traditionally embraced immigration & had the foresight to build an infrastructure to channel the talent and needs of newcomers for years. Immigrants are viewed as a bonus here. If it wasn't for immigrants, this nation's largest city would be in serious decline, rather than being the culturally & economically rich, vibrant and unique place that it is today. I think the key is that community leaders need to learn how to utilize a resource & not curse a gift. It is far better to have brain gain than brain drain!

The people in the northeast are doing something about it. Several cities have enacted local laws imposing harsh fines for renting, selling of property, or employing illegals. They have also cut off all the freebies they get. It's time the rest of the country woke up and did the same.

We need to remove all incentives for the illegals to come here, for starters. Then take the ones already here and put them interment camps or send them to Iraq with no weapons or money, if we ship them back to Mexico they will be back in 48 hours with new false documents. They have one goal to reconquer the southwest, by having babies at our expense.

I for one am tired of paying for their culture of drugs, violence, promicuity and filth.

The solution to the problem is simple. Protect your life. Protect your property. Don't whine and complain for the government to solve your every problem.

Fact is that the immigrants are people too. Maybe you should learn spanish to figure out how to make friends with them.

Yes it is an ever increasing problem everywhere. I don't care what argument or justification the illegals try to pull or give, illegal is illegal. It means breaking the law, and as such they are criminals and threats to national security.

I'm in northern Ohio and it is a problem here as well. We don't have the magnitude of the southern states, but it does exist here.
