Sounds like you are at that age. You can actually start orthodontic treatment as early as 7 years old. There are appliances that can help your jaw and bones grow correctly, so less extensive treatment is needed later. This is phase 1 ortho, the phase 2 would be after you have all of your permanent teeth and have lost all of the primary teeth.
Many people do not need, or didn't have the phase one and can have traditional braces at anytime, but usually it isn't started until all the primary teeth are out and permanent teeth are in, so everything can be moved correctly.
You do want to make sure you have good dental hygiene habits because that is key to good results, without white spots after they are taken off!

There is no age limit to undergo orthodontic treatment. Seek the advice of an orthodontist. based on ur condition they would give u a treatment plan. treatment plan varies for different patients.

usually the right age would be the age where you can really start taking care of yourself. i got mine when i was 12. it is very important that you know how to take care of yourself and your personal hygiene. you have to learn to take the pain as well at times (: there's not really a specifically ideal age i guess, just not too old.
