Actually the whole city is a pretty nice place to visit and much depends on your taste and the time of year. Certainly a warm spring day around the Tidal Basin (especially if you are lucky enough to have the cherry trees blooming) is a wonderful place to take a book, sit under a tree and read. Midnight on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial is a wonderful place to think in quiet and take in the site of the Mall from the steps of the memorial all the way to the Capitol. Perhaps the Smithsonian buildings are a grand stop--I loved the quiet of the art museums. A walk in Rock Creek Park on a warm October day also works. Don't miss either the Capitol under the Rotunda or a visit to the Great Reading Room of the Library of Congress either.

The Holocaust Muesum. Do NOT go to the White House! We went and all I can say about it is we've been there! Very disappointing. You have to stand in line (for a long time) for tickets to come back at a later time....then, of course the tour before yours is running behind...so you have to wait an extra 45 min (not to mention that you are suppose to be there 30 min before your tour starts!), you have to go through security (the ppl are very rude), then you go on the "tour" which is a path of red carpet you follow. If you lean over to look at anything the guards will yell at you, if you touch anything the guards will yell at you. I know I am going on about this but we were very hyped about seeing the White House and quite disappointed!
The Smithsonian, The Wall and Ford's Theater (don't forget the house across the street where Lincoln died) were all very good. Oh yeah, I haven't been but have heard from several ppl that the tour of the FBI building was great.

We took a trip to DC last year and I think the most beautiful was the National Cathedral. We spent a week there and could not see everything. Take comfy walking shoes!!

DC is so crowded right now, that the best place is actually right outside of DC in northern Virginia--Old Town, Alexandria.

you do not choose gloves in ought to, yet you may choose an umbrella and a mild jacket. you've were given to make certain The secret agent Museum, it really is perfect! They coach you a thanks to secret agent, and then they coach the heritage of spying. fairly relaxing. For eating places, bypass to Adams Morgan, it quite is close to downtown and a short walk from the Metro. i love Fasika's for ethiopian nutrition, it quite is delicious. there is also a eating position for nutrition from Ghana and there is The Diner for American nutrition. they are all real looking and excellent next to at least one yet another on 18th highway. in case you want to bypass to thirteenth and U, which has a variety of of golf equipment, you should attempt Ben's Chili Bowl. they are prevalent for the nice and cozy dogs, yet their chili cheeseburger is dazzling. you may continually get inexpensive food at warm dogs carts, too, and that i evaluate the nice and cozy dogs 2d in ordinary words to Chicago and extra acceptable than vast apple. do not employ a motor vehicle, take the metro. Reagan airport has a metro end, and maximum places downtown have one, too. it really is not severe priced and it really is totally sparkling.
