Nope, people have acidic skin pH around 5. This is protect us because we are not covered in fur.
Dogs don't and have pH 7 or neutral.
Using human shampoo on a dog will dry out the coat & skin. This can lead to itching & scratching. Once the skin is broken from scratching; bacteria & fungus have a way into the dog. Then the trouble really begins.
Easier to use a dog shampoo & coat conditioner. Especially on a dog that is bathed frequently. You can wash your dog as much as you like, if you use the correct products.

Never. It has too many agents in it that will dry out the dogs skin and coat and cause all sorts of problems. Always buy a shampoo specifically made for dogs.

No, dogs are not people. Use a dog shampoo. Also if using Advantage or Frontline make sure you use a tear-free or soap-free kind. The flea control is in oil which lays on top of the skin. If you use any other kind of shampoo your stripping that oil off therefore stripping off your flea prevention.

No please dont. Human shampoo can be very bad for a dogs coat and skin. It will make their coat go very dry and horrible looking and it dries out their skin leaving it very sore and itchy. They can also get skin infections as a result of this and their skin can start to weep and ooze. Very painful for the dog, very smelly for the owner.

Hair and fur are two different things. Also, human shampoo will strip the coat of natural oils and dry the skin.

Sure it is. I use a less expensive brand but one that is mild. If your dog has fleas tho' you should use a flea shampoo for dogs. My daughter actually uses conditioner after shampoo on her poodle.

Use Dawn dish soap. This is what we use on the dogs at our animal rescue. It's cheap, smells good and it lathers good. The best part of it though...it kills fleas. Our vet told us to use this years ago and I haven't bought a bottle of dog shampoo since.
