They are all ways that we may seek a closer relationship with the one true God.
I say one true God because, God sees all expressions of faith as being acceptable.

Is there a similarity???? I suppose you are talking about the physicality of being on a prayer rug and the associated movements. I don't think there is a relationship to yoga. However there is a relations or similarity between shalat and vespers or the angelus. Shalat is a time for serenity , Thanksgiving and prayer which occurs five time a day I believe announced by the chanting of an Oman . In Catholicism the the Angelus was said three times a day and the the bells of all churches rang and 6am , 12 noon and 6 pm.

Hmm, I don't think so, but there is always a possibility. In Islam, each of our movements during salat (prayer) has a meaning. In the beginning we raise our hands to our ears while saying "Allahu akbar," which symbolizes surrendering yourself to God. When you surrender or give up, you raise your hands as a signal. Bowing down (rakaa) and then bowing with our foreheads on the ground (sujood) is many symbols; worship, humility, humbleness, etc. It takes alot for a man (especially one with a big ego) to bow down to something in humility, so to bow down to your Creator is the greatest respect.
The physical aspect of prayer *does* have good effects on the body, similar to yoga. You're completing movements which total to about 34 times of sujood, great for the bones and joints, for the muscles and the bloodflow. Studies are being done now because some have discovered that the seven points of your body that make contact with the ground (head, hands, knees, feet) may be releasing harmful radio waves that gather in your body on a daily basis. Of course it's only a theory at the moment.

It's very different. Yoga consists of mantras and such. Solat consists of prayers.
