You are eligible for medicaid based on your income and your assets. Apparently it varies with the area of New York you live in.

A.M. Greetings fellow New Yorker! First of all, I cannot state for a fact that I know the ins and outs of our state regarding medical help. However, I do know that we offer several different types that you may qualify for. If, in the event that doesn't work out, try calling a local hospital information line or such, and ask if they might know of any doctors/clinics that work on a sliding scale, as to how much you have for income. Good luck.
