Actually it's Indian. If people study before they open their gobs. It just shows the ignorance really. This was 2001 stats. You'll probably find that the european's have risen considerally from last year and are very close to the top of scale.
I'm no racist but I do believe there are many issues to do with immigration that need to be sorted. My family are of a mixed descent but they all fought for Britain and British culture. My fathers side goes back 6 generations in Scotland. My grandfather was one of many men who married eastern women while spending all or most their lives fighting in these countries in the belief it was belonging to Britain ie the British Empire. If you tell people to go home you'll probably find they already are home.
Population Size
7.9% from a minority ethnic group
The size of the minority ethnic population was 4.6 million in 2001 or 7.9 per cent of the total population of the United Kingdom.
Indians were the largest minority group, followed by Pakistanis, those of Mixed ethnic backgrounds, Black Caribbeans, Black Africans and Bangladeshis. The remaining minority ethnic groups each accounted for less than 0.5 per cent but together accounted for a further 1.4 per cent of the UK population.
Ethnic group data were not collected on the Northern Ireland Census in 1991. However, in Great Britain the minority ethnic population grew by 53 per cent between 1991 and 2001, from 3.0 million in 1991 to 4.6 million in 2001.
Half of the total minority ethnic population were Asians of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or other Asian origin. A quarter of minority ethnic people described themselves as Black, that is Black Caribbean, Black African or Other Black. Fifteen per cent of the minority ethnic population described their ethnic group as Mixed. About a third of this group were from White and Black Caribbean backgrounds.

Of course not it's not fair - the BNP aren't saying this beacuse they have a key interest in demographics - they are saying it to attempt to persuade the white UK population that immigration is BAD, non-white people are BAD and all asylum seekers are BAD! If it is the Goverment's immigration policies they have a problem with, then why not attack those policies rather than insult the ethnic communities themselves?
The language the BNP use is deliberatly designed to stir up hatred. If they had a genuine point, then why can't they make it without the use of offensive language?
I do not believe that everyone voting for the BNP is a racist - just that they are fed up with being ignored by the government. Unfortunately, voting BNP will only help create a feeling amongst the genuine racists that they are justifed in their arrogant, narrow minded warped point of view.
Immigrants often work far harder that what the BNP call the 'indignous' UK population. How many white newsagents hhave you seen? How many British nurses and doctors are there? How many white British toilet cleaners are there? Very few. Why? Because the white british low-wage earner would rather sit on their bum and claim the dole rather than work in a newsagent for 16 hours a day. And how do they express their views? By stating on this and other forums that "this country is full of pakis" whilst munching pringles and watching daytime telly. If only they would get out there and find a job, earn the money and contribute to the British economy - just like the immigrants and genuine asylum seekers have been doing for years whilst they get fat, prejudised and even more intolerant in their old age.
Just for the record - I am a white, british born and in my thirties.

It might be fair if the term was meant without offence. For example some places in the UK/USA have places called "China Town" or "Little Germany". But coming from the BNP it's probably intended to stir up hatred, jealousy and a mix of all other kinds of emotions from people who think their country is being taken over. The high level of hysteria about such topics doesn't match the true account of facts and figures. It's nice to see not everyone has such an impulsive fear. Whichever culture/race our fellow brits are from, Integration is the answer, not segregation, and that applies to both sides.
It seems most comments from the BNP are unfair, and yet sadly without their valid stats, they're able to strike a cord in a growing number of people.

Fair? Of course not. The BNP likes to stir up fear and hatred with lies and disinformation based on an abysmal lack of historical and geographical knowledge.
We are a mix of cultures and have been for centuries. Seems to me the BNP just has an issue with anyone of a different coloured skin, forgetting that white people in this country are the descendants of people from other northern civilsations down the long centuries. Ask anyone in the BNP what they consider to be "British values" and all they can cite is the kind of values reminiscent of ducks on a village pond in England's green and pleasant land, conveniently sidestepping the northern and southern european immigrations that resulted in the genetic histories that they themselves have, and the appalling poverty and inequality that lay behind those soft focus images of what they think England was.
Read Anglo-Saxon history. Read about the Roman conquest, the Viking invasions, the Norman conquest, the Industrial Revolution. Also read about the huge contribution the countries of Britain's Victorian Empire and the commonwealth countries played in the defence and support of Britain during the world wars. Do some research on place-names. Then go challenge the BNP on their views of what England/Britain is, and what our language is and how it adapts and changes all the time. Ask them what they think a British value is. Then you'll know for sure that what they come out with is ignorant nonsense, and best treated as such.
:-)

Definitely not - the Indians and Sri Lankens must be pretty angry... because there are loads of Sri Lankens here too and even more Indians. So how come Pakistan gets all the glory...?
This country has just as much claim to be called "North India" or "North Sri Lanka"...!
I guess it must have something to do with this "White Flight." Apparently, white folks are leaving the UK in droves. Except for the poor, of course, (white trash) who are always with us.

Yes I think so. Certain parts of the UK may as well be Pakistan or other middle eastern countries. It really annoys me that British citizens outright refuse to assimilate into British culture and society. I still wouldnt vote or support BNP though. They are racist bigots. I am not.

No. Of course its not fair. It's propaganda by the BNP who are alleged by some to be a Nazi party. For the origins of the BNP search Wikipedia. You might also like to research Nick Griffin's political history. It makes interesting reading.

No,in Scotland the biggest minority (Pakistanis) only constitutes a tiny percent of the population as a whole....I suggest that England only has a smaller percentage than they think too.Just ignore the racist bullying of the BNP,they just remind me of the boy at school who used to stir up trouble, then sit back, smirking as he enjoyed the trouble he had just caused!
