You are speaking of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell car. Yes it is real, they are testing a few in LA. (mostly minivans) There are two things slowing down this research.

1) the oil industry is trying to kill the research.

2) unlikegasoline, there currently is not an infrastructre in place, you would need stations built, and that would cost alot of tax money.

The only thing like that is a guy who found some way to process water so that it is extremely unstable. Of course, that process requires a great deal of energy which would be produced by conventional means.

Hydrogen is a great source, it takes Hydrogen and combines it with Oxygen in the air to produce energy and water. The Hydrogen can be created by a simple process, but again, the energy required will come from another place making this power source more like a battery than a generator.

Not really.

If you split the water into hydrogen and oxygen, you will not get back as much energy when you combust the hydrogen and oxygen back to water as you put into it.

If you run it on water as a steam engine, well then energy had to be added to the water to make it steam, and that energy came from...

Anyone who suggests that you can put water into a tank and run the car on it is kooky. They will not be able to explain the principle of operation to you, because there is none.

yes A MAN USED 4 QUARTS OF WATER AND TRAVELED 100 MILES WITH IT. HE MADE IT SO THAT A DROP OF WATER WOULD OCCASIONALLY DRIP AND THE WATER WOULD HIT THE PISTONS OF THE CAR CAUSING A LITTLE EXPLOSION OF ELECTRICITY AND KEEP THE ENGINE GOING, BUT HE DID HAVE TO HAVE LESS THEN 1/2 QUART OF GAS TO START THE ENGINE, AND HE WAS OFF.

sO THE WATER DRIPED TO START LITTLE EXPLOSIONS OF ELECTRICITY AND KEPT THE ENGINE ALIVE.

Because the powers that be will shut anyone down for even thinking about it. We have the technology we just can't get it out there.
