In the $10k to $30k market, you're looking at older, smaller single-engine airplanes. The Cessna 150 and 152 (and some 172s), the some of the Piper Cherokee series, and Beech Musketeers are pretty typical of what you find at the low end of the scale like this.

There's also some experimental, homebuilt types in this market segment. Again, they're the smaller, simpler types.

You can get into most of the ultralights, brand new from the factory, in this price range as well.

Before buying a used airplane, make sure you get a good pre-purchase inspection. A new coat of paint can hide a multitude of problems. Also, you may want to do a title search to make sure there are no liens on the airplane--I've even seen an airline make this mistake. When test-flying it, make sure it doesn't do anything unusual for that make and model, in all modes of flight. You don't want to get stuck with an airplane that was damaged and not repaired properly, or one that's going to cost you a lot of money on the next annual inspection.

The links below should point you in the right direction.

A budget like will definitely land you in the GA segment. However, if your goal is to ferry, say, a family of four, for example, around, I seriously doubt your chances here.

Do try looking in the mircolights/ultralights section. There are many types of such gliders around and some are even auxillary-powered (with a large fan and a small engine), I believe you'll enjoy flying one of these. Have fun and good luck in getting your aircraft!

There are many aircraft that fall into this price range. To get maximum performance from a conventionally manufactured airplane look for a mooney M20C. Another option would be to purchase an amature built airplane. Ther are many different kit manufacturers and models to choose from. Visit Barnstomers.com.

Dude, You don't want to be middle eastern and be asking for info on buying planes on an american website. That just is not a good idea since 9/11. I will tell you however if your interests are purely with aviation, then you can look here...
