They will go withing a half hour after eating, right after playing or sleeping. Praise him like crazy when he goes outside. The biggest mistake people make is not leaving the dog outside long enough. I tell everyone when they rescue a puppy from our animal rescue to leave the puppies out for a half hour without distractions, or if you are where you can see when it's went poo and pee then you can bring it in sooner. Dogs are distracted when they are outside and sometimes it takes a little bit for them to do what they are out there to do.

It all depends on when he eats and drinks water. My puppy is sick right now, but when he is well he would poo and pee in the morning at 10am (he will lick my face or my bf's face while we are asleep to let us know he needs to go). He also does this before bed. My puppy is pad trained so when he needs to pee he just goes to his pad (except in the morning and evening we take him outside so he can do his pooing) and normally we use one pad a day sometimes two depending on how much he has played and how much water he drank he may make a huge pee spot if so he doesn't like to reuse it. To answer your question, from what I have read when I first started potty training my puppy..they pee after naps, after playing, and after eating. You just have to watch him for a bit and learn his routine or from what my trainer says you can make a routine by taking your dog out several times a day and dont let him play take him out and tell him to pee pee and when he does tell him good boy and eventually he will know when you say pee pee he needs to pee.

A lab pup will need to go potty approximately one hour after any meals, and after playing. Just like people. So ask yourself, how many times a day do you need to go, and when? it is the same for your puppy.

General rule, not exact: Puppies need to go out when they get up in the morning, after all meals, after playing awhile, after naps before bedtime, and anytime you notice them sniffing around and walking in circles. It's not an exact science but generally those are the BASIC times. Good Luck

From my knowledge most dogs go to potty straight after they eat or drink
