Religion has stood in the way of scientific progress for all of recorded history. Luckily, there are enough people doing stem cell research these days, that society will eventually experience the benefits of those advancements despite religion dragging its heels. As for the bible, it's sort of their handbook for how to slow down scientific progress. It's senseless. There's an answer here from a disease victim that would rather die than be cured simply because she believes the propaganda spread by her religious group. That's just one small example of how the bible gets in the way.
Basically, the relationship between the bible and stem cell research is that the bible is an obstacle to science.

A few of those who answered before explained where stem cells come from... So basically, stem cells and religion do not mix. With religion saying it's tantamount to abortion (when you decide to grow an embryo as a source of these cells). It's easier to get stem cells from the embryo - it's more potent, more pure. With stem cells from the umbilical cord, there's only a slim chance and there's a need for a more controlled condition for them to grow.
With stem cells, there are lots of things and diseases that could be made and cured. Lots of researches can be done with stem cells. And the church is getting in the way because according to them we are killing a person who hasn't even experienced what life is about at the expense of someone who has a chance to live a better life if his condition could be made better with stem cell research.
Stem cells and religion.. that's about it.

Christians have no problem researching with adult stem cells. Much good can and is being done from this research. There is no reason to destroy the embryo to do stem cell research. It's taking an innocent life that is wrong.
Pro-life people have stated the minute life begins. I would like to hear when pro-choice people think the very minute life begins.

Stem cells used in research are often obtained from very young human fetuses also called embryo's. Which most of us who follow Christ call preborn babies. We believe that the ends do not justify the means. You can not justify destroying life in order to save others. I am a diabetic and if and when they find a cure for diabetes if that cure was obtained in any way as a result of a preborn baby I will not seek it. I will not gain my health at the expense of an innocent child's life.

there is not any longer something interior the Bible that announces something approximately stem cellular analyze. additionally, besides the fact that if there grow to be some thing interior the Bible, it particularly would not help because of the fact no longer all of us THINKS THE BIBLE is often suitable OMIGOSHWHOKNEW. in case you may go with to teach a element, you may choose some thing SCIENTIFICALLY shown. yet, besides the fact that, there is not any shown reason stem cellular analyze is incorrect, so.... Sorry, can no longer help. yet you should think of: could "killing" the fetus particularly be seen KILLING some thing? on the degree in being pregnant the place that's criminal to terminate the fetus, suggested fetus can not: sense, scent, flavor, see or pay attention, and has no understanding. particular, its heart beats, yet does that fairly make it "alive", if it has no understanding and no senses? think of roughly it.

Easy. God created humans and animals and blessed them with the capacity to produce stem cells.
If stem cells miraculously cure a disease it is because of God`s gift.

stem cells nothing, but the way you extract them does,
today they mostly use embryos as a source of stem cells
you can also extract them from Cord and ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stem_cell#Sources
but it seems that it is easier from embryos.,
now since embryo is a living human creature for roman catholic
it means that you kill a human beeng for research only because it is easier to get stem cells from them then from baby cord
humans are not lab rats
those that don't belive that human is person with soul at embryonic status will not agree with me

Stem cells are not taken from foetuses. They are in embryos, but for science they come from adults, placentas or from umbilical cord blood post birth.
