You've hit a nerve with that question!! I've been married many years but a long time ago I had a similar experience with a friend. I felt the chemistry between us but for some reason was never able to take it any further. Eventually we drifted apart and we both met other people but to this day I still wonder what might have been. As an old man looking back on my life I would say take the chance, talk to her and ask if she feels something more then friendship. It puts you in a place where you are vulnerable and exposed but it is better to have tried and failed then look back and wonder. Take the chance!

I think I understand the sensitivity of your question... and perhaps your fear that you will lose your friendship, or concern about being too forward, which I am presuming is frowned upon in the middle east.
I think they others are right... you have to talk with her... or tell her. Maybe it might be better to start off hypothetical.... see how she feels in general and then tell her how you feel.
I suggest you start off by being subtle and then work your way up.
however, talking things out will be the only way you can resolve this... be it email, written letter, phone call or in person.
If you stay in the dark... and don't articulate how you feel... you might never know. Take a chance and find out.

if you are really in love with her and ready to face your middle eastern culture by wanting a serious relationship with an older woman, and if you really think she has the same feelings and that telling her about your feelings will not push her away, then go ahead and tell her, maybe she is waiting for that...

I know that all cultures are different but, the best way to let someone know what you feel and think is to tell them directly. Get her where you can have a little privacy and explain to her your feelings. Do it with class and passion.
