I've recently returned from a trip across America, as part of which I visited LA. I wouldn't say it smells, but and no offence LA residents, the city seems simply to have no soul. But you just have to go to experience it. I wouldn't settle there though

It depends on what part of LA your talking about. I am from LA but, I don't live there anymore. I love visiting but, your right some places smell just like someplaces in NY smell. It didn't smell when I went to Florida though.

I have been to many areas of LA and haven't noticed a particular "smell" that applies to all areas. I have smelled good things (pine trees, freshly cut lawn, bread baking, etc) and really bad things (like a duck farm and oil refineries). What smell are you talking about?

if someone told you it smells, it's because they're concerned LA is overpopulated as it is. LA gets more new people moving here every day than most cities combined....so if it smells, it smells pretty darn sweet.

yes it does smell; dont pick up stuff from the ground; or buy fruits from the guys on the side of the road (I was driving by one time and saw the guy peeing in the bush near where he was selling his fruit..ick!) homeless people dont have anywhere to "do there buisness" in downtown so they do it on the street (ya, ive seen that to) Its amazing how Orange County doesnt have this same problem as bad...

Why do people go to Venice? That place stinks for a good portion of the year (but I like it anyway)
