Terrorism is an ideology, terror is a tactic, so a war against it is meaningless. Once we realize that, we'll see the only way to stop terrorism is to eliminate the situation that creates and fosters it. George W. Bush, by invading Iraq when the real threat was in Afghanistan, did just the opposite. There are many more terrorists in the world to day due to Bush's mistakes. His policies are the best terrorist recruitment tool the Middle East has ever seen. The 'jihad against the west' is built stronger by Bush's constant references to his religion. he knows that talking about god only incenses the Muslim extremists, but he keeps doing it because he also knows it helps him win the votes of his god-featring bible belt base. It will take many years of Democratic leadership for us to get back to the point where we can really do something to control terrorism. It's a shame the last 6 years have been such a setback.

We all become Muslims. Since I don't see that happening , at least not this child, then we somehow have to be on the offensive and perhaps the extremist Muslim need to see that they could just possibly be causing their own problems. I honestly don't' know how we can co-exist with a group that believe I should be exterminated because I don't think like they do. Maybe give them their own country and let them do as they wish. This country would allow them to practice their faith to their faiths content. They cause any problems outside their country, then they are a much easier target. The problem is while most people want to be free to practice their faith, they also want freedom to live in peace and as they choose.

Volunteerism and being a good samaritan. Look out and be aware of your surroundings while not being afraid to take initiative. There is a difference between profiling and stereotyping, so use this to understand that the best person who can make a decision in the field at the moment is you, not the Police and not the FBI. It's all about you, me, and the other guy making a difference at the moment when it counts.

I would say there are many things we can do to try and reduce terrorism and not just "one-best-way". But one way, which should always have top priority, is to kill them before they kill you.
I'm not being a wise-***. But running away, trying to hide or pretending that if "we" are nice to "them" they'll be nice to us doesn't work in the real world. (if you live in the jungle it's OK to have a prayer book in one hand but in the other you'd better have a gun too) For the foreseeable future it's either kill them or be killed.

Stop giving little children ghost stories and start giving them our creator's original giflts of life which is living human kind vital life support system for their survival on planet earth.
Give them the fisshing line, hooks and sinkers.
The Fish for their daily bread on planet earth.
Instead living human kind gave them ghost stories and how they all follow the mummy which risen from the graveyards with two hands stretching out blindly leading and searching the way back to the grave yards on planet earth.

Take every terrorist state and target every place where 2 bricks are stuck together with our satellites. Then at 3am MOAB every target. Reduce the piss holes to smokeing holes in the sand. They're running a Jiad on us so we should take our Jiad lesson from the Bible. God gave the example of Soddom and Gamora, we should pay head to it.

Nobody can give you a real answer, because any real answer will be "reported" on the grounds of "inciting racial hatred and violence".

Think about this: if you made the price to be paid high enough, they will surely stop.

How did Saddam deal with terrorist? What would he have done about a roadside bomb? Think about it.

If Mohammad Jones blows up at the fruit stand, we should track down his mother, children, brothers and sister. and execute them all. Would you blow yourself up if your family would die if you did this dastardly act? These folks are nuts. The only way to maintain order with them is through fear. Just like Saddam did. If Saddam was any different he would have been killed quick. He knew how to control these freaks, but western society says he was cruel. Look at his citizens.
