Its up to you whether or not you eat it. I'm a chef who has worked in the food industry for nearly 20 years (have chef managed Spanish tapas bars, modern European cafe bars, creperies.....too many different ones to list here) and I eat "smartprice" foods as they (nearly all of the time) taste just the same as usual brands or stores own stuff. Tinned tomatoes are tinned tomatoes - it doesn't matter if it has a pretty label mate but if you prefer to give shops more of your money so that your friends can think "ooohh, aren't they wealthy buying Del Monte!!" then that's up to you. Socially speaking there are plenty of people out there who are scraping by who have no alternative but to buy "smartprice" who don't appreciate the sort of attitude that you are displaying its crass as well as being ridiculously ill informed.

By the way if you ever eat out at "posh" hotels & enjoy the food - then the chances are that you are enjoying "smartprice" stuff thats been well prepared

Many people have to eat cheaper priced food because some are single parents who have to buy food and buy necessities for their children. Alot of people don't have enough money to buy fresh food that might go off, as it is a waste of money. Also think about the retired who are on the state pension. Not everyone has enough money to buy the 'best' food.

yes i do. its not all nasty. If you have a low budget its fine because you think of the people who have NOTHING!!! I wonder if you have ever tried any of it. Did you realise that some of the foods are actually the same as the brand names just different lables!!

Be greatful please.

whats wrong with it... supermarkets have things made for them.. they dont have 100 different factories... so the makers of the big name products re-label things for them to sell cheaper...
