People think they can fight a boxer and win, especially after a few crates of beer. If any famous boxer retaliated the press would embroider the story until the attacker became the victim and the boxer would have to pay an out of court settlement. It's cheaper to pay someone else to put down the beer swilling gene pool slurry.

Ok heres the truth! once you become a proffesional boxer your hands are classed as deadly weapons, if you hit someone you will get charged with attempted murder not GBH or ABH! so a bodyguard can 'sort out' your problems for you WITHOUT YOU HAVING TO PUT YOURSELF IN A SITUATION.

I like the answer from one of the guys to hold the boxing gloves and the baby oil! LOL...
Well, they can only fight one person at a time because they were trained to fight one person inside the ring, outside the ring they are scared and helpless... LOL more...

Ha, ha, cute.
They are trainers and are there to actually care for injuries and moniter reaction time after a blow to the head and other reasons, but I detect a whimsical note of sarcastic humour to your question.

because they dont want to have to fight every loser who thinks they can take them. Besides you dont want to get a injury fighting some chump in a bar that would cause you to lose out on a bout that might have a nice purse.
