is Oil application on hair and scalp is effective in combating scalp fungal infection or is injurious to hair?

..follicels as having hair oil all the day would definately attract a lot of dust to settle which is in turn a carrier of fungi seeds?

I am a licensed cosmetologist and over the years I have found that by adding oil to the scalp is detrimental to healthy hair. I use a hair cream (something light) that does not clog the pores but does provide the necessary moisture to prevent dandruff. In applying oil to the hair itself, it really is of no benefit since the hair cannot absorb the oil unless the hair cuticle is open (usually during relaxing and perming processes).

its not injurious, why do you need to apply oil? our hair has sebacious glands w/c secretes oil,.it wont attract fungus ..shampoo your hair everyday to remove all the dirts & bacterias in the scalp
