And as long as I'm here and stalking spammers...
DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO POSTS A LINK TO A CLICKBANK PAGE! They're spammers who are getting a commission for every piece of software that you buy from that link. "What's that, you say? Buy? They said it was free software!" Well, they're lying. The programs they're cut-and-paste spamming for have very shady histories and generate tons of false positives to scare you. Then, the software refuses to fix all of the "problems" you have unless you register (pay for, that is) it. I have tested the software they're spamming for on a clean install of Windows and both programs reported hundreds of problems that *don't exist*. They're spammers, they're liars, and they don't deserve your money or attention.

Its all a matter of opinion, but I have found majorgeeks.com to be the most comprehensive, it breaks everything down by catagory, and lists if the software is freeware or shareware...go have a look, and embrace your inner geek!

my favorite is www.Download.com.
There are reviews on all programs. It will alert you if there is no uninstaller to a program. There are a lot of programs on that site, some do cost money however, you can set up a filter to show only free programs.
