There will be NO TROOP WITHDRAWALS from Iraq until Big Dick Cheney has an iron-clad, rock-solid arrangement in place (with the cooperation of the Iraqi 'puppet' government he helped install) to take all of Iraq's OIL. That's the only reason we illegally and unconstitutionally invaded that nation in the first place. Even then, our troops will remain there (in more minute numbers) to monitor the oil production and "keep the peace".
We don't give a damn whether Iraq's a dictatorship or democracy; all we want is the OIL. If eradicating despots and turning dictatorships into democracies were that important to the U.S. government, we'd be doing it all over the world. But most of those other dictatorial regimes don't have any OIL!

A Marine's work is never done. When this is wrapped up there will be somthing else fun for us to go do. I did not enlist to sit around in the states wondering if I was going to get to go anywhere. All this about troops coming home to stay, though sounds real nice from my point of view, will never happen. We will come home to stay when we EAS.

When they are all crippled or dead. Not before then. The others will be bogged down in Iraq or whatever the next pointless war will be. Not one of them will come back to stay for very long or in a sound state. It is the nature of this war. I don't know who I feel more sorry for; the soldiers or the Iraqi people. Iraq has lost much more than the soldiers so I guess it it the innocent citizens I am saddest for.
What a shame..... such a great shame. Bush is responsible.

Let's see we are building 12 military bases throughout Iraq, Camp Anaconda is a big hit with 15 Square Miles of declared domain including apartments for ten of thousands, featuring year around golf, swimming, bowling, and all! Not to mention the Malls, where you may shop and dine with variety and an international flare! Let's face it the United States has grandfathered Iraq! The troops coming home? Hell, "they are home". Welcome to Anaconda, may I take your order?

Come home from where? Our troops are around the world and have been for decades. I presume you mean Iraq. Dunno. We are still in Japan and Germany 60 years later. There's more pressure to leave, so maybe 20 years? As long as there are countries in the middle east that don't like us, that have power over us (with oil), we will stay.

When the Iraqis can defend themselves against a whole continent's hired mercenaries.
These Oil-caliphates, dictatorships and monarchies have EVERYTHING to lose by a secular and SUCCESSFUL DEMOCRACY. Iran and Syria are SH*TTING their robes right now.
In the meantime, showing we SUPPORT our troops and FREEDOM dicourages our enemies. So simple even DEMOCRATS can understand...
