A good social position might bring happiness, but being rich doesn't. Many rich people are depressed. They have way too much money and don't know what to do with it.

to be quite honnest the real question is are they happy? rich and social people may bring happiness to some people but most rich people are sorry to say stuck up. The rich people that give money to charity and help the less fortunate are nice if they dont just want the publicity but this is a hard question i think they can bring happiness if they really want to but do they DO THEY?

In the big cities, like Sydney (n Australia, some of the highest rates of divorce are in the suppposedly "wealthiest" suburbs.
An ancient philosopher, Epicurus, gave a simple measure of happiness
* having and examined life (having a vision or goal)
* have sufficient resources to survive
* have friends and a significant relationship
I would add having a relationship with God...

it may and it may not! having all the riches we want isnt a sign of true happiness but a false one. it can actually generate true and lasting happiness if we get to enjoy things around us despite of the what we have. remember...

Out world what see it all-ways not true
In life peace of mind is more important than earthly qualities(wealthy)
wealthy does not bring happiness it brings comfort.but for happiness we need peace of mind,love & good healthy life & to enjoy that comfort.

how is having satisfaction .good family members & friendes .how is having helping natucher .how is not cheating any one he is only one having happiness not rich & social good
