Well the veggie with the highest fiber content and lowest caloric count is iceberg lettuce. Personally I don’t really count that as being food though because you’d get more nutrition from eating the cellophane bag it’s packaged in.

What’s generally best for people with obesity issues are going to be your fibrous green veggies with a higher vitamin and mineral count, because you’ll want to keep up the electrolytes while loosing the weight. Green Beans, Mustard Greens, Kale Greens, Kelp and Swiss Chard are all fine for serving this end.

As for fruits, I’d say that Apples, Pears and Oranges are best to also maintain a balance of vitamins and increase the intake of dietary fiber.

This is a strange question. Vegetables are good for everyone and all vegetables are suited for someone who's obese. Broccoli, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and red peppers have a lot of good nutrition, fiber, and antioxidants in them. Carrots have a higher sugar content but are still very healthy. Generally speaking, the darker or brighter in color the vegetable is, the more vitamins and minerals it has in it. The lighter-colored veggies still provide good fiber though.

All green vegetables, especially dark ones, are good and vital for you, plus add tomatoes and you are rich in antioxidants and nutrients needed. They also help an obese person lose weight faster without feeling hungry. Of course, carrots, onions, and garlic are very healthy for you because of the beta carotene and the last two help with circulation and heart health. The best fruit is also a tomato, but add bananas, oranges, apples, plums, blueberries, grapes, melons, and strawberries...they're all very good to make a person full fast, and help lose weight, but best of all they contain vital nutrients such as potassium to help the body function well (especially the heart and brain), as well as antioxidants and phytonutrients. These are the favored foods of the nutritionists I've spoken to over the past 5 years to control weight and blood sugar. ♥

Usually the green veggies are healthy. Broccoli and spinach have vitamins. I don't think lettuce of any kind has much value other than being ruffage to clean out your pipes.

I think some nongreen veggies are believed to fight cancer, but I don't know if that's scientifically proven.

Carrots have good vitamins and are known for improving night vision... but humans can actually store up enough Vitamin A for something like 3 years. So I doubt they need more.

Veggies that definitely don't have much value are: celery, eggplant, corn.

The healthiest vegetable, would have the highest protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and lowest glycemic carbohydrates, ................
This vegetable does not exist. Spinach and broccolli have some of these these aspects.
If you are obese, Yes eat these vegatables, but also consider that exercise is a part of it too. Diet alone will not do much, you must have both to succeede.

Tomato would be it for me.

The iron content of tomatoes does not seem impressive, absorption of the mineral is enhanced because of the generous amounts of vitamin C also supplied. Tomatoes also provide folate, which women need during pregnancy, and the fiber in tomatoes helps relieve constipation and prevent hemorrhoids.

Spinache is packed with nutrients. But for obese people I would suggest supplementing all their snacking with fruit. Red Delicious Apples are still probably, pound for pound, the best food for you. They are loaded with fiber, antioxidants etc and their pectin eases hunger.
