I conected a 2x16 LCD with Atmel mega8. when i turn on the circuit some times (15%) the lcd doesnt init.Help?

When the lcd doesnt init the first line turned black...

check your LCD startup timing. I dont remember off the top of my head, but there are certain timing requirements at startup. You may be on the edge of one of them.
