Yep, denial would be the place most people would be right after getting the news....
More research has been done since these stages were defined. It seems people move back and forth between them and they do not just get completed and go one after the other.
Tell your cat how much you love him/her. If it turns out she does need to be euthanized and you can handle it, be there for her and hold her - it will comfort her and you will always know you did all you could.
Just feel what you feel, when you feel it. No pressure to feel good or bad at any given time - just take it as it comes, get it out and then take the next step.

R

I've never experienced these stages of grief, at least not with an animal. Sorry about your cat, though. I lost one to lymphoma a couple of years ago and another to poisoning just recently. Best regards.

I don't know really what to tell you because i heard all things for support from family and friends even my vet. and i was so numb...
something bad happened to me also,. i lost my Saint Bernard at the age 3 to bone cancer :*(
I miss her still so Much......
she was looking right at me when she died.
she let me know when time was close. Did everything i could...
~~~ I am So Sorry that your baby has bone cancer.~~~
My girl was only 3... i wish i had more time. I got to keep reminding myself that now..she is no longer in pain...
but what i would give to have her back home.
i had her creamated and burried and she has a headstone
with her photo made in stone in a heart her name dates
and always in our hearts...
i go and visit her like if she was human, and i do not care if
people thinks i am nuts..
I am a cancer survivor and my baby wasn't..,,,,
i watch my baby suffered and she started to not want her pain pills.
i took her for rides in cars and gave her mc'ds and whatever she wanted .. she was so smart., she always gave her paw and the day before she died, she couldn't give me the paw where the cancer started she stood on her back legs as big as she was to give me her other paw. i think it was her way to tell me.
she was going... and the last thing she did before she died.
was kiss me.. closed her eyes. and............
was the saddest day in my whole life.
MY BEST ADVISE, IS TO SHOW HER LOVE, AND MAKE SURE SHE DOESN'T SUFFER TOO MUCH.
ALL STAGES, ARE ALL HARD TO DEAL WITH.
TRUST ME.
