I am originally from the Cardigan-Wales area, and was a travel agent for the West Wales Travel and Trade Association. We specialized in family recreational activities. I reccomend a stay at the Victoria Royale Plaza Inn. Service is fabulous especially for the little ones. Here's their website:

A walk around Walswood Park near sundown is always enjoyable as the duck races commence at 5:30 sharp at the Georgeschester Lakes at the west end. Don't fforget a trip to the Polo matches at the east end.
Enjoy your trip, any other questions, contact my agency:

I come from Newquay, about 20 miles up the coast from Cardigan. There is a tourist information centre at the theatre in Cardigan. (Theatr Mwldan). Pop in there at the start of your stay and they should be very helpful. If it's a lady called Jill/Gill say hi from Diana.( I used to run the Newquay office).
There's a farm park right on the cliffs where you can go seal spotting.
Not a lot to do in Cardigan although it's a lovely town. Lots of sandy beaches between there and Newquay. Llangrannog is gorgeous. Newquay is pretty special too. My mother runs an animal hospital near to Newquay. Visitors are by appointment only. Obviously I won't hand out her number over the net but I'm sure the tourist office will help. Or email me and I'll give it to you.
Have a great relaxing holiday - although I appreciate it may be hard to relax with 3 children!!
Can I add that I have never heard of any of the places that embo 979 mentions.

I have fond memories of Cardigan with the lovely castle on the hill and taking the kids to the park. The town itself has some lovely architecture and quaint shops.Theres sometimes festivals on in the town and there is a great fish and chip shop- the best in Wales i think and you have to eat them buy the river and watch the swans swimming across.

The Welsh hate the English a group called the sons MGB will burn you out if they can find you. Go anywhere but dont go to Wales. Cornwall, Scotland, Devon anywhere, but Cardigan Bay!!!

Depends when you are coming here, but in the next few weeks there are vintage shows, model railway exhibitions, Welsh cob day, and many other things of interest.
Most of the attractions are simple and country orientated, don't expect Blackpool!!!
