Angyra, called Ankara. Angyra is an ancient city founded by Greeks about 3,000 years ago. The city was selected by Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, at the beginning of the 20th century, to be somehow in the geographical center of the country.
The largest city and financial, cultural, etc., capital is Instampul (Is tin Poli), which was the capital of the Roman Empire, since 4th century, on the site of Byzantium, a colony of Megara, founded by Byzas, 27 centuries ago!
Another great city is Ismyr (ancient Greek city Smyrna), at the West of the country!

Ankara is the current capital.
Under the Byzantine empire it was Constantinople.
It was then renamed Islambul - city of Islam, by the Muslims, now known as Istanbul, and Istanbul was the capital for many centuries..

Come on. You really want to tell us that you don´t know how to find this kind of info on the net? Or are you just lazy?
OK, if it is laziness: Ankara is the political capital of Turkey, even though Istanbul (formerly Constantinople) is the biggest, most beautiful and most important city.

Akuwash was the original name for Ankora the capital of turkey. The capital goes back 3000 years.Even Alexander the great stayed there and it was a model city based on where east meets west. With wide
boulevards but much of this has been lost due to excessive building.

Ankara is the administrative capital...but there really isn't much to do there. Istanbul is more of the cultural capital (and where the two continents meet).
