Have you tried glucosamine-chondroitin tablets? My family swears by them.

try getting a massage reguarly, it will help loosen the muscles that could be contributing to the pain. Also, take up water aerobics to help strengthening the muscles and the joints.

get those heat pads that are for cramps and put it on your back...trust me it works. good luck :-)
