Well, I'm not necessarily going to try to force you to change your mind. I'll just share the conclusions that I've come to in my studies of the Bible.... and I am therefore saying, then, that this is my opinion and I'm not claiming that it's more correct than someone else, okay? I'm not a pastor.
ANYway... from the scripture I read, simple belief in Jesus is NOT enough. There's a passage in John 8 that says it simply. Jesus is quoted as speaking to Jewish men who 'believed'. But even though they believed, he still had to tell them to hold to his teachings... THEN they would know the truth and the truth would set them free. Belief wasn't enough. It is actively following what Jesus preached and doing what he said (like Matt 28.18-20) So, to me, just because some guy who's murdered a person suddenly yells out "I believe in Jesus" doesn't necessarily mean he's saved.
Second, salvation, again from what I've read, goes hand in hand with baptism and repentence. Baptism is the purpose of participating in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Repentence is the act of breaking down the wall of sin that separates a person from God. And I think where a LOT of people really miss the point regarding salvation, repentence, forgiveness and a basic relationship with God is this: repentence and forgiveness are two completely different things. And here's an example to show you what I mean: If I have an affair, feel remorseful about it and then go to my husband to beg for forgiveness and he forgives me, great. I'm forgiven.... But, if I go out two weeks later and have another affair, feel remorse again, ask for forgiveness again.... have an affair, feel remorse, yadda yadda yadda. The point is, although I'm repeatedly asking for, and receiving, forgiveness I have never truly repented of my sin, because I'm turning around and doing the same thing over and over. The Bible makes very clear commentary regarding repentence in the first four books of the NT and the book of Acts. We are expected to acknowledge the sin that controls us, make every effort to bannish it and stay away from it and THEN, with that acknowledgement and bannishment, get baptized and receive salvation.
So, are there some folks out there who have done some heinous things, truly realized the magnitude of their actions and genuinely repented? Yes. Are there those who really could care less and treat 'access into heaven' as some sort of last minute test they can just slide right through? Yes. And do I know how each of them are going to be treated that final day? I have my inkling, again, based on what I've read, but I obviously have know way of knowing each person's motives or heart.
So there you have it... that's my answer. I don't know if it satisfies or frustrates, if it changes your mind or reinforces your beliefs... I just hope it at least made sense.

Believing in Jesus is not a "get out of jail free" card. We all have consequences for our actions. If we break the law in our country, we go to jail. The Bible says "obey the laws of the land." Everyone is human, and Jesus offers forgiveness for those who ask for it and mean it. God is not a magic gumball machine in the sky that doles out whatever we want. God gives us what we need, not what we want. Evil has been in the world since the garden of Eden, and people have free will. When someone gets saved, they live their lives differently than before. If they use believing in God as an excuse to do whatever they want, that is wrong, and goes against what the Bible says. Hope that helps.

Firstly, you don't go to heaven if you simply believe in Jesus. Even Satan believes in Jesus. You have to lay your life at his feet and follow him.
Secondly, we are all guilty of sin. The worst part of sin is not that actual action, the rape/murder/etc., but rather the rebellion against God and the rejection of what Jesus has done for us. Therefore God says that we are "all equal in sin". If we were responsible for our own actions, as people are without Jesus, we would ALL be condemed to hell. It may sound a bit unfair, but it is better to have some people unfairly forgiven then everyone going to hell.

Ok.
1. You commit sins every day...it's a fact....everyone can easily commit sins....let it be murder or just stealing candy
2. Jesus was sacrificed for every sin....so that we can come back to God - and I mean every sin.
3. If someone murders, rapes etc because he doesn't know God yet, God forgives him.
4. If someone murders, rapes etc even when he knows God...then God might not forgive him.
5. Every man was saved....only they have to choose to accept the sacrifice to go to Heaven.
6. If someone accepts Jesus, he won't sin as much as before...or even not sin at all...because he gets closer to God, and will know what's sin.
Hope I changed your mind:)

I think your confusion is from the idea you have (the false idea) that murder, etc. are sins but the sins you have committed (lying, stealing, lusting, cheating, speeding, etc.) really aren't sins, or if they are, they are "no big deal"
But that's not what God says. If you lived your whole life and sinned only once, it would be enough to send you to Hell, and if you die without knowing Christ, it WILL send you to Hell forever.
But none of us has only sinned once. We have all sinned hundreds of times a day for many years, so we are all under an incredible weight of sin and guilt and (soon) judgement.
It's ironic that someone that thinks their sins are so small they amount to nothing can think they are so much better than someone who has committed some other "biggie" sin, when if the person who committed the biggie is really sincere, they appreciate how terrible sin is far more than the one who laughs and thinks "small sins" are nothing and inconsequential, and therefore, it is those that appreciate the gravity of sin enough to turn from it and cry out to God for His mercy that He will forgive, not those who refuse to repent and obey Him.

All those things are only sins because God said they are. Physically speaking, they've got no more significance than each other; in the purely physical sense, molesting a child doesn't matter any more than sex with an adult, and a lion killing its food is no different than us killing each other. And, if they're only sins because of how they relate to God's nature, no sin is really any worse than another; no matter what, you're still acting in violation of God. They MEAN a lot more to us, and tha's how it should be, because this is the world we live in. But, in terms of how much they alienate you from God, they all do the same thing. If one sin can be forgiven, any sin can.

If a person TRUELY repents and asks for forgiveness of their sins, then yes, God will forgive them. But, if they aren't sincere, they'll still be punished. Besides, at least God holds ppl responsible for their actions. It's not like Christians claim there is no God and we can do whatever we feel like with not regrets or consequences!

God knows if we are really repenting on our sins. If you are sincere on your repentance, I believe God would forgive you.
For us Christians, following Jesus is the way we can say that we believe in Him. How can you can say you believe in something or someone but you do not follow?
The Ways of God is sometimes diffferent with the ways of our world. God has His own way of reforming sinners, while the world simply wants it to be an eye for an eye.

Firstly, people do not go to heaven or hell.Death is a state of non life(Ecclesiastes 9:5,Psalms 146:4.Also,think about Lazarus.Lazarus was a friend of Jesus. When he died would it not have been cruel to bring Lazarus back from heaven?John 11-44)
Second, one a person becomes baptized they "drown" the old sinful person, symbolically. If a person does any of the things you mentioned (Proverbs 26:11,2Peter 2:20-22,Romans 6:15-23)
It is mentioned in the Bible that Jesus died once for all mankind. We can use that death to cover our old sins. But if we willfully continue to sin we continue to put Jesus BACK on the torture stake.Hopefully, some other Christian will have that particular scriptural passage I mentioned.(It was one of Paul's writings,I believe.)

How convenient this idea of forgiveness and grace.
Nobody has to be responsible for their own lives, just pray to god and every evil ever committed is just "washed away" in Jesus blood.
I'm sorry, but I would rather live a decent life for goodness sake than rely on a "savior" to take care of everything for me.
Maybe I'm the nutty one.
