Well, one thing that Christians get wrong, that even got your mind confused, "Sodomite" actually refers to a citizen of the city of Sodom. Ezekiel 16 says, ''Sodom's sins were pride, laziness, and gluttony, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door." The sins of Sodom were listed in the bible and not a single one of them was homosexuality, or even sexual perversion. Homosexuality is just about the only sin in the old testament, outside of the 10 commandments, that the majority of Christians will speak out against. This is because Gays are a group of people that can be pointed too. A "good" Christian that's cheating on his wife, can point to the Gay guy and say "Sinnnnneeeerrrrrrr!!!" and take the attention away from himself. The Pastor that embezzles money out of the church fund, can point to the Gays and say "Abomination!" The Priest that rapes and molests his favorite alter boy can say "We need to stop Homosexuals from their evil lifestyle!" It's an old magic trick. It's called misdirection. When a magician wants to do a trick he makes you look in one spot while the real action is happening somewhere else, and viola, I art holier than thou!

Being hateful is never justifyed. I do believe homosexuality is a sin, but that doesn't change the fact that homosexual are discriminated against. At least in practice (I'm not perfect), I wouldn't treat homosexuality as different than any other sin; I'm as bad as they are, no more, no less. All I'm saying is that that doesn't make it not a sin. Some people also say there can be no such thing as a gay Christian, because they are choosing to incorporate a sin into their lifestyle. Not true; it's a weakness to do that, it is a failure, but it's just like any other sin, it doesn't somehow set you apart from others.
BUT, I won't admit to homosexuality not being a sin; the Bible says it is, I can see WHY the Bible says it is, and even if you are born homosexual, it's still just a temptation of the flesh, which you have the ability to ignore, if you so choose.

How many questions are in here? :)
The bottom line is to find the greatest or deepest most far reaching morality. Individual personal freedom must not extend to a point that it causes harm.
First may I say that people that hate come in all forms and are in all religions.
You mentioned that there are many versions of the Bible but maybe you did not notice that they all list the same sins...liars, adulterers, murderers, homosexuals etc..the same list appears in every Bible.
Many in the Christian faith see some of these sins currently practiced in and outside the church as "acceptable although not preferrable". I'm talking about activities such as as divorce, lying, adultery etc. This should not be so!
I agree with you 100% that WE ARE ALL SINNERS. But when we recognize that our behavior is not honoring God and we are practicing sin, we should not excuse it with this reasoning but rather repent (change direction) and turn to God for forgiveness and healing.
The only way things will get better is to do our best to live holy lives and that includes living a life or LOVE and speaking the truth in love. Name calling, labeling and bashing each other do not fall into that category.
Christians cannot expect non-Christians to live by God's law when they may not even believe in God. The only way Christians can ever hope to change their society is with LOVE.
Thank you for your question. Whatever may be your personal situation I pray The Lord blesses you right where you are with the sweetness of the knowledge of His wonderful love for you.

I take it your gay and are trying to promote your sexual immorality here? Yes we are all sinners but true Christians do not wish to sin... whereas homosexuals do.
None of us is righteous however and all of us are worthy of death. Isaiah 64:6. But you see to truly repent and accept Jesus as Lord of your life you can't pick and choose what you want to believe and what to dismiss in the Bible.
Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice... and no people are not born that way. I have case studies I have purchased from the University of Colorado that were done with identical twins and there is no genetic link. There is however a behaviour link due to the break up of the family. Kids that grow up with a absent or abusive father crave other men to love them and guide them and over time that can give one the impression you are a homosexual and you may not know why so you may accept the idea that you were born that way to ease your confusion.
For lesbians there is an entirely different perspective in that these tend to come from backgrounds where sexual abuse was prevalent.
There is a excellent ex-homosexual group out there internationally that is run by ex-gays. Check it out.

I agree, its fear. Fear that their normal, structured world is collapsing. I've heard that Homosexuality is an abomniation, man perverting god's will. If that is so, god must be the abonimation.
There is a species of monkey that practices a sort of homosexuality. The monkeys have sex with any other member of the species, male-male, male-female, and I think female-female, regardless of relationship, and the only taboo that researchers found was that mothers do not have sex with their sons' after the son reaches a certian age so he does not impregnate her.
Then of course there are the children screwing preachers, pastors, cardinals... throughout the church but for some reason they seem to be alright, as long as they move to a different neighborhood.
They are simple minded. Thats all hate is.

Being hateful isn't God's work. Being tolerant of sinful behavior isn't God's work. The problem with the Gay lifestyle are these.
1. Promiscuity. Gays tend to be promiscuous. Social disease and other heath issues are prevalent among them.
2. They tend to "learn" of their gayness from other gays." This isn't something you'll hear from the news magazines and websites or on tv, yet it is by far the biggest contributing factor in someone becoming gay. Make no mistake about it. It's a "social club," if you will.
3. Multiply and replentish. Ain't none o' that going on in the gay lifestyle. Marriage to someone of the opposite sex is the only way you can "multiply and replentish" as God intended it to happen.
4. Did I already mention promiscuity?

Complex question.
Certainly Homophobia doesn’t help – the unconscious fear that the person themselves may be gay.
Most of these people divide the world into “good” and “bad” – they have dualistic thinking schemata. They have no other category to understand reality– I mean what sane person cares if someone is gay or not? Its simply doesn’t matter to most sane and reasonable people. But for Fundamentalists, since the bible says gays are bad, then of course they are bad. End of story.
Actually, it is just one thing they have chosen to focus their hate on. They consistently ignore David – the King of the Jews who was clearly bisexual. His eulogy for his lover is pretty graphic. David concretely states that he loved Jonathan more than women. Also, fundamentalists neatly avoid all the things that are “wrong” in the Old Testament, that they have dropped (or stopped talking about!). For example – Slavery is recommended in several places in the Bible – as is Incest – (Lot & His Daughters). You never hear bible thumpers screaming about women’s periods do you? The very same Book (Leviticus) that condemns gays goes into great details as to how dirty women are on their periods, and how men must avoid them. Then there are things like “shell fish” – being unclean, you eat it, and you must be killed. - But you don’t see Bible thumpers protesting outside of “Red Lobster” do you?
Another problem these people have is their fear of and yet love of authority. To them, people are good only because they fear punishment. Fundies are only “good” because they fear going to hell. To them, if there weren’t a police force, everyone would instantly turn into rioters- stealing, looting, etc. They feel the same way about gays. If no one wasn’t attacking and condemning gays, everyone would start having gay sex!
Try to imagine such a world – from their point of view. It must be pretty terrifying. Think of them as small children who have been told some scary stories. Fundies lack the mental ability to sort out the scary stories told to them by people who really ARE trying to scare them. Mentally and emotionally, I’m sorry to say they are like children.

Forget the bible, forget what people say, forget all those things. Make a list of all the mass murderers in the US in the last 100 years. 94 % of them were homosexual ! If you think being a killer of young boys or young men is " GAY " then you are pretty screwed up.
And that is exactly what I dislike about homosexuals. Many are very maladjusted people. They have all sorts of issues that cause them problems in life in general.
As a college student in Gainesville Florida, I worked as the night express agent at Greyhound Bus Depot. Every night I had to contend with the homosexuals aggressive and repulsive advances. I do not fear homosexuals, I just do not like them. If they would act like normal people , then I would respect them and treat them as normal. Can you not understand that public displays of homosexual behavior is repulsive to many people ? What would be your opinion of me if I went out of my way to offend ?

Humans are inclined to hate anything they aren't, as a rule. They can't imagine themselves loving a member of the same sex, so they think it's wrong. They can't imagine worshiping Allah, so they think it's wrong. We are all guilty of it in some way, but the homosexuality issue has gotten out of hand. I don't think we have any business telling other people how to run their love lives. But what most concerns me is that people aren't worrying about truly troubling issues like poverty and inflation and war and all that, but instead getting all hot-headed about what some people do on their own time. Silliness!

Homosexuality is proven neither to be choice nor genetic. Until one or both are proven, any definition except for _human being_ is hate speech.
The bible says rape and selling your daughters out for sex is okay, but says nothing about consentual same sex relationships.
And for anyone who quotes Leviticus, I hope you're not a hypocrite and live by all the other rules of Leviticus (eg. stoning offenses include eating shellfish, not growing your hair in rabbi-style, wearing fabrics of mixed material like cotton-polyester, etc.).
