Do you think that's how they validated what they did?

It's not okay for anyone to molest a child under any circumstance. Anyone who harms a child's soul, says Christ, it is better that a millstone were attached to his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
When it is done by a priest or pastor or teacher or parent or anyone else who is an authority figure to that child I believe it is even worse, for the adult is taking advantage of the power he has over the child in order to to do harm to that child which will go with the child throgh his whole life.
You don't know something is wrong to do and then do it with the idea of "repenting" afterwards. That is not true repentance.

Don't be silly. Of course it's not OK. It's not what happens to the priest that is at issue here but the destruction of the child. I think they have no idea just what a terrible lifelong trauma they are inflicting on the child when they do this (even though they have been molested themselves, which is how they come to pass it on!)

No, you do not want to know, you want to be provocative. The fact that you or I might not believe in heaven and/or hell, or believe in the particular system of confession and penance practiced by the Catholic Church, does not mean that they are contemptible people who go around claiming the privilege of molesting children. The priests who were caught with their cassocks up, as it were, have not simply been forgiven and assured of their place in heaven. And if they were, it would not reduce by one iota the wrongness of their actions.

Never. This is the problem with Catholicism. Repent any number of sins, crimes against humanity, genocide, etc. on your deathbed to a priest & you'll be forgiven get to go to heaven.

I don't think so because even if the priest does repent, the child did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. I don't see how someone can be forgiven for causing that kind of trauma to someone so young.

If you repent & trust in the saviour you also will get to go. The thing you speak of is called grace abuse.Child molestation is the same as 1 (one) lie or any other sin in the sight of a Holy God he hates sin, all of it. If you ever get a chance to speak to 1 of these "Priests" tell them to repent. Thanks

it is, of course, not okay.
you cannot commit a sin intentionally thinking God will forgive you if you repent later on. God sees a man's heart. He judge by someone's "motive" of action. It is wrong for a priest to molest a child. but if he repent sincerely, God which is full of mercy will forgive him, but he hates the wickedness of people. the bible says God cannot be tested.

no - it is never okay for that to occur under any circumstance - but the molestation - the fallout - and the repentance are seperate issues. knowingly doing such a thing with the idea that it'll be okay because you can repent is not how God works.

What? Who told you you could molest a child and still go to heaven? If it's truly something you're sorry for and you've made all the amends possible, you've stopped your dispicable behavior, and you've committed to choosing the right, than yes, I believe you can go to "heaven."
