Why are pediatricians so much more attuned to the children etc, but when you go to a doctor as an adult, they don't seem to care, adn tell you the same thing everytime you come back for the same problem? IF you're coming back because of this, OBVIOUSLY somethings wrong and needs to be checked into!!!!

One better than the other....on occasion perhaps; and that goes both ways. Infants and young children can't express or explain in detail what is bothering them and the Peds have to be attuned as you correctly point out, to their symptoms, expressions, etc. Adults have the ability to explain how they feel. If adults keep coming back and back for the same aliment maybe they weren't clear the 1st visit. Many adult patient fail to be honest to the questions their doctors asked in his or her efforts to make a diagnosis. How many adult men or women want to readily admit to drug use or extramarital sexual encounters thinking their doctor will "figure out" another reason for their bleeding nasal cavity (snorting whatever) or the burning feeling when they urinate (STD)? It's just human nature.

A relatives healthcare expert is extensive in the experience that your toddler is healthful and often coming up! i could say start up out along with your healthcare expert, and turn provided which you should. My son began out with our healthcare expert, and that i enjoyed him being there. He have been given particularly particularly sick early on and the scientific institution switched him to a pediatrician for us. I enjoyed how our relatives healthcare expert is on call each and all of the time, and how he even met us in his place of work on a Sunday afternoon, and then lower back till now the place of work opened day after today. the specialists of the pediatrician so some distance have been, that if there's a super situation that sends you to the scientific institution, they are waiting to fulfill you there. in any different case, you may basically ought to take whoever is available (whilst you're no longer already seeing a ped). Our ped. has Saturday hours that are effective -- our relatives healthcare expert would not have that. different than that, i for my section have not seen a super distinction. i for my section want the relatives healthcare expert and am attempting to get my husband to enable me swap our son lower back.

Two reasons;
1. It takes a certain type of person to want to work specifically with children and to be successful at it. They must be kind, patient, understanding, and good communicators.
2. Children can't always tell you whats wrong so to be a successful pediatrician you require excellent diagnostic skills.

In the end they are not neccesarily better doctors, it is their bedside manner that is better.

Pediatricians work with children, they work with child mind and thus they are more sensitive, more responsive and more caring while dealing with their patients, which is not all the time true for doctors who deals with adults .... and OBVIOUSLY this is the reason for difference in the behavior pattern of doctors of two such fields in general ... you just see the doctors in the same hospital .. and you will see things as I have observed

:)

Pediatricians train solely for children. General Practicioners get too comfortable in their office and with their clients. That has been known to happen a time or two.

I read Jim's answer regarding pediatritians and I agree with him. In addition, if you are getting the same answers more than once from a general practitioner for the same problem, you need to get a second opinion and/or change doctors.

Pediatricians love their job and their patients...other Doctors love their pay and their big houses, they don't care about giving you the right medicine, because they want you to keep coming back and paying into their brand new corvette.
