Yes - just about any animal can have gas build-up.

The problem lies in your cat's food. The brand of cat food can be causing the issue here. Cheaper cat foods such as Whiskas and Cat Chow can cause excessive gasses to build up in your kitten. Premium cat foods such as Iams and Science Diet are easier to digest and more of it is digested so there is less gas build up. Alternately some cats need to be put on a prescription food diet due to allergens in foods that they react to.

I would try moving them to a premium food first and if the gas still persists then take them to the vet for an evaluation. Make sure that you do not feed them any people food since this can cause excess gas as well.

Yes of course. Why else do you think the song "Smelly Cat" was written?

Cheaper foods and canned foods tend to make cats fart more. Kittens are little fart-heads anyway because their digestive system is still maturing. Don't give them milk or it will make them smell even worse.
