Oh Heck yes! The police here ticket the teenagers here for curfew violation. We live in a remote area and there are local kids out all the time. I have a strict curfew for my kids to be home before ten even if they are just playing outside close to the home. During the school year the city curfew is 10 pm and the summer 11pm. I rather have my kids in before ten. Kids in town are all over and in the streets and hanging out and getting into trouble. Kids play out in the middle of the streets from the age of 3 and up. Parents have very little guidance and think their kids will be alright with a spending money while the parents go play bingo, play pull tabs and drink in the local bars. So, my kids dont hang downtown and they be in the home before ten pm and no later.

10:00 is a reasonable time. Enough time to have fun with friends, but not enough to do something stupid. I had a 10:00 curfew up until my 17th birthday. Its 12:00 now. I guess getting home on time all those years finally paid off.

Absolutely! You are being very kind letting them stay out until 10. My parents made me wait until I was 16 to go out at all and I had a 10:00 curfew. On the other hand, it depends on where they are going and who they are with.

I guess it depends on how great of a kid they are. I mean that's always been my parents rule to have me home by 9 or 10 and I am older than 15 years old. I really think that my parents should trust me and stuff because I get good grades and have never been in trouble in my life.♥

During the school year it should be 8 pm to assure school work is completed unless your active in school sports, drama club etc.then of course you have no choice but to adhere to times for games or practices. And phone privileges cut off is 9pm respect the others in the home who have to go to work in AM
On the weekend 10pm is fair no later then 11pm Most activities for a child that young isn't going to be past 11pm

Yes....but I'd probably give them either 11:00 or midnight...depending on the local curfew...and only if he was trustworthy. If he wasn't trustworthy, then it probably would be 10:00, if i'd let him go out at all.

That's a good time. All parents should implement a curfew on any of their children under 18 and if they live under your roof you have the right too!!! It's for their own safety. And it's not that we don't want to trust them, it's that we don't trust the weirdos out there!!!!

It all depends upon where they are, and who they're with. I have a 15 yr. old daughter..... I trust her to do the right thing. Keep the line of communication open between mother and daughter, and put some trust in your 15 yr old.......until otherwise proven wrong.

I'm 14 and i agree with you. Limits must be set or you'll be walked all over. Just dont be afraid to reward ur teen. if they gain ur trust, be sure 2 give them a little more room on the leash, like 10:15 or smthin on special nights.

10:00 is a good time, but it also depends on the kid. Good grades and a good kids may not be as restricted.
