Some universities have degrees in Astronomy. If yours doesn't the next best major is Physics. What ever your major, try to get an internship at one of the telescope labs so you will get a hands on feel for the discipline.

Astronomy 101 is a good start. :-)

Read lots of theoretical physics books in your spare time.

Differential Equations and higher mathematics
Advanced Physics
Chemistry (101 and Organic)

Most of the larger Universities have curriculum geared for Astronomy majors.

Also, consider buying a mid-level telescope and a few books on the night sky.

And though not wholly accurate in its depiction of astronomers, the movie Contact is an excellent source of inspiration.

An Astronomy course? LOL.

Good subjects to take at GCSE or whatever they are called now would be maths & english (that applies to everyone), then sciences such as physics, biology and chemistry.

A Levels (if they are still called that) I would say Maths, Physics and one other and then go on to Uni to study Astronomy.

Good luck.

Math, and higher level math courses. You have to learn how to use telescope, and you need background on courses that invovles learning about different planet and stars. You mave need some background on physics too.

you need to work hard.
you need to stay consistent with your dream
and not change it often. if you are not consistent you cannot complete anything.
