The National Library of Medicine suggests holding your breath, drinking a glass of cold water or eating a teaspoon of sugar can help stop hiccups. You may also try holding a paper bag to your mouth and breathing in and out for a few minutes.

There are numerous ways to try to get rid of hiccups, however, the one way that seems to work well for me is to breath into a paper bag.

Take a spoonful of sugar, and then when its all done, drink half a cup of water and then hold your breath for as long as you can. If this doesn't help, try making a fist, and then hitting it underneath your ribcage inline with your sternum. this should jar the diaphragm- the diaphragm moving unevenly and out of pattern causes the weird pattern of breaths...your hiccups. But I like the idea of ab exercises...that might work too.. but the sugar thing always helps me.

The only way I can ever get rid of mine is to hold my breath and drink like almost a full glass of water.

This is guaranteed to work:

While holding your breath for 30 seconds, have someone do a hard massage to your shoulders, making pressure downwards with both hands at the same time.

Try it, you will be amazed!

The only thing that has ever worked for me is to breathe slowly in & out into a paper. It helps to regulate the carbon dioxide. try it!

i had read this solution somwhere looooong time ago and it was the only 1 solution that flawlessly worked.... close your ears with your hand and drink a glass of water ( this way no air goes in...) don't try it in front of an audience though!

hold your nose while drinking water( only for a few seconds though of course). That is how I grew up doing it and it always worked for me.
