do people call themselves 'casual drinkers' when they might really be alcoholics?

some people i know use the "just one or two glasses a night" story, when i sense that they are actually using alcohol to self-medicate. just wondering if other people think society has made it convenient to hide behind the label of 'casual drinker'?

I think a lot of people do. I know people that will drink all night then call themselves casual drinkers even if they do this 2 or 3 times a week. I personally think they have a drinking problem.

Its the same as people saying little bit bad when the matter is worse...
