Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers
Patton
Full Metal Jacket
Top Gun
Those are the best military movies I've seen.
Apocalypse Now was too much of an acid trip for me., Behind Enemy Lines was just an opportunity for every anti-military actor to get face time. Jarhead was just a bad, false portrayal of the service.

None of the above. While a war movie fan, each of those you mention I have issues with. But since you made the question I'l take Hamburger Hill. Patton, is more bio pic than war movie.

All are very good, especially Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan, but Patton would be my pick.

Of that group, Band of Brothers, but expanding, I've always been partial to "Big Red 1" which I cconsider to be a foreruner to the modern war movie genre (it just didnt have the special effects).

My personal favourite, currently, is Black Hawk Down.
It shows pretty well how a combat in urbanised enviroment looks like. And what happens if you're overtly self-confident, and do underestimate your opponent.

Of the listed, Apocalypse Now.
