Not everyone can visit North Korea. I am Canadian and live in South Korea, and a co-worker of mine has visited several times.

You may only visit North Korea by guided tour. Not all nationalities can visit...especially South Koreans can not visit on a tour. Actually, my co-worker had to alter documents so that the North Korean government did not know he had worked in South Korea previously (even though he was Canadian, he would not be allowed in). He also had to enter the country via China.

Some South Koreans have visited the North in the past few years in government-organized "summits" to re-unite families that have been torn apart. The visits, sadly, last only a couple of days. Three days to catch up on decades of missed memories with your spouse or children. Heartbreaking.

South Koreans can't, I don't think anyone else can either. The only filmed footage that I know of that is not released by the North Korean government or it's media has been done with hidden cameras and then smuggled out. They don't want to know how badly people are suffering there, especialy the orphans who live on the streets and pick scraps of food out of the dirt. It's heart breaking

i imagine that is truly prejudice because i have seen North Korean from the chinese language and the South Korean border. they don't have electric powered fences or land mines because they don't have adequate technologies and aspects to cause them to.(many people have the incorrect theory that they have got bunch of weaponry) also the border strains are demilitarized which signifies that neither international locations could have weapon on the border. North Korean gov't enables some people to visit their relations in South Korea and inspite of the actuality that its uncommon and are supervised by using the officials its not as strict as you're making it sound. little ones at the on the spot are not taught to kill and hate people yet they don't like people by using own determination because thats who they fought antagonistic to in the course of the korean warfare and that they had not something to do with the warfare. they don't have useful construction because back they don't have the technologies or the source. they're allowed to have cameras, information superhighway, phones, etc. its in simple terms somethings are blocked to disallow people to communicate with different international locations. they don't have money to employ people to placed on useful outfits and not in any respect all of us smiles or seem satisfied. The "king" is a dictator which cubans have and they have pictures everywhere because the gov't makes them. they doesn't kill people from different international locations because even if you already are conscious of it or not they're extra afraid then what people thinks. in case you imagine about it if russia, u.s., and china attacked them the full united states will be gone because the three international locations have the most nuclear weapon. So earlier you provide incorrect assistance do your study.

Yes you can.
There are a tour from both Korea side and China side.
World media use these tours sometime.
However, you can not bring any thing with the name of "South Korea". Because They do not admit that another Korea exist on this earth.
eg. if there is a word "South Korea" on your book, the tour will tear it up.

No, you need special permission. If you really want to, it is possible, but takes alot of your time filling out all these forms, and making some lies. Usually just for reporters and the like.

I'm sure an American won't be permitted to visit there individually.
