Eight weeks is the proper time to wean a kitten. Mom cat will look for her kitten for a few days and then stop. In the meantime give her lots of a attention and affection. The kitten has to adjust to his new permanent home too, and it would be best, long term, if he wasn't brought home again.

Kittens are ready to be taken when there at least 6 weeks of age, maybe you took her kittens off her too young they might be eating and drinking but they still need the mothers milk to develope properly.
Maybe give her kitten back till she is 7 weeks.

I come from a cat-breeding family. It is normal that she is devasted. How would you feel? Mommy cat will recover. The operative question is can you care for more than one cat. They ,also, are animals, and will breed with each other if kept together. You would have to have them all fixed.
Don't get back the other kitten. It will all be OK!
Just keep loving, and nuturing mommy cat.

She will get over her missing kitten. In nature a male cat will kill kittens, so the female will come into heat again, so it's natural for the kittens to leave the mother.

she will be fine ,if you got it back she wouldnt want it now anyway, cats get over it quickly, and she shouldnt be feeding them now it wont do her any good ,so try and seperate them now as much as possible.she isnt devastated cats arent like that, she will be looking for a mate again now and getting pregnant agai so look out,the kittens should have left the mother 2 weeks ago so being weaned is no problem its weaned if it eats on its own,

she will get over it.. my cat fretted for a few days, when we gave her kittens away, one of my neighbours took a kitten and a few months after when mum and kitty met up, mum freaked and tried to attack the kitten..lol so they say cats forget and now i believe that after seeing that.

You should never take a kitten away before it is weaned! (still breast feeding means it isnt weaned)..
