First of all you 'll need the proper hardware. That includes a DVD ROM or DVD RW drive. After you make sure that you have that, you'll have to have a program to play the dvd disk. That of course depends on the operating system you are using, if you use Windows, the most obvious choice apart from Windows Media Player (which comes for free with your Windows) are WinDVD from Intervideo, and PowerDVD from Cyberlink.

If you are using Linux, there are programs such as Ogle, or perhaps this link ( http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/5644 ) should help.

First off you'd need to have a DVD drive. (It doesn't have to be a DVD-R.) You cannot view DVD's with a CD/CD-RW drive.

Second, you can download free DVD player software on the net. I've included a link to a site that has a free DVD player. It's what I currently use.

You can install DVD player program like PowerDVD,KMPlayer.
Your XP's Windows Media Player can also play DVD.

simple... u just have to have a dvd rom(jus like a cd driver) connected to ur pc and a software instaled to view ur movie or whatever... the software is there in windoes by default.. u jus need to connect a dvd driver and ofcourse a dvd

Insert it and follow directions..you will be prompted to assign a player TO the DVD..and youll want to use Windows Media Player [if you have Windows...that is ]..and just wait till it loads..its easy..almost automatic.
