Why do ex-boyfriends that you still talk to and hang out with bring up the past and how they want you back?

Essentially, the guy sees you as a potential mate and wants to reproduce with you. This is where the conflict begins. Typically, if the female doesn't want to copulate, the male becomes dissinterested, and finds a new partner. But what if you are the only potential partner that male knows of (his only attractive female friend), or knows that he is compatable with? His instincts kick-in, and you'll constantly find yourselves having discussions about "how things used to be," and "we can work it out," or, "friends with bennefits." Not to mention the physical harassment you'll endure. Basically, find your male friend a partner, and he'll leave you alone, but only to a degree. Offer sex, and don't be suprised if he takes you up on it!

The best way to solve this problem is to stop it at its roots; talking. Women want to talk, and men want to do. Women like having friends just to have them to talk to. Men like having friends if they serve a purpose. If you decide you don't want to have children with a guy, drop him and don't talk to/hang out with/acknowledge his existance until he finds himself another partner. But even if he has a partner, don't expect him NOT to try to reproduce with you. Men are perfectly fine having multiple partners. Society isn't so fourthcoming (hence marriage, monogomy, religious beliefs, etc...), but the mind of a human is no different than that of any other animal when it comes to reproduction: reproduce at every opportunity. Women differ in this reguard, mainly due to their gender roll of caring for the young, and subsequently, needing to be cared for themselves. IE: the man provides, the women raises the young.

They don't always want you back , they just want to see if they can get you back [ EGO TRIP],because all females to them are needy and stupid. As soon as they know they got you they dump you again and say they never gave you the impression they wanted you back, you just took everything out of content. So it becomes you fault.
