many women gain large amounts of weight durring pregnancy.
my ex wife gained around 10lbs through our pregnancy and quickly lost it postpardom. I am affraid that when i am remarried that i may have unrealistic expectations of how much they should change after giving birth. How many women put on more than 10-15 lbs through a pregnancy? or is this average?

Well, I put on 50 lbs. exact!! However 2 and a half years later I am now 7 lbs. lighter than when I got pregnant. Lucky me I suppose. But even after weight falls off don't expect a woman's body to ever look the same, no matter how many sit-ups and side stretches I haven't gotten rid of this baby section. Patience is a virtue, remember a few pounds is a small sacrifice when it comes to a beautiful child. That's just more of her you'll have to love.

There are many reasons why women can gain weight.... I gained about 60 pounds with my son because of problems that he was having... It was all water weight... So it is not very uncommon for a women to gain more than 10-15 pounds.... Although the doctor can monitor what is going on if too much weight is gained.

More than 10-15 pounds is average. Actually, aside from what the medical community says, 30-50 pounds is really average. It depends on the woman's health beforehand and how she takes care of herself during her pregnancy. I had problems with my hips spreading and causing severe joint pain during the second half of my pregnancy and that caused me to gain a lot of weight, since walking or even putting on pants was absolutely excruciating. Breastfeeding after really helps take the weight off, by the way.

10-15 lbs is actually not enough. A woman should gain between 25-35 lbs. Thats the healthy average.

10-12 kg weight gain during pregnancy is absolutely normal. This occurs because of additional weight of baby, placenta, membranes . Hormonal changes cause additional fat deposition.

try to loose it after delivery. lactation itself helps to loose some weight.

everybody's body recovers differently- if it's a skinny women that you want for life-put it in the pre-nup and for sure- just don't get her pregnant....I put on 20 pounds after having my two boys...but then so did my husband. (HA!)..go figure.
Finding a wonderful person to spend the rest of your life with is much more important than how much they weigh....my brother ended up in a wheelchair after losing both legs to diabetes....his wife who was suffering from breast cancer took care of him untill he eventually died of kidney failure- it changed the way I looked at relatiionships- and my own body image, just being healthy and able to have sex with my wonderful healthy husband is magic!

Because the body has to have nutriance for the baby and stuff down there. And then a baby's in there.
