well from my experience if your child is not eating they are usally going thru some sort of phase.. Do not push the issue of eating when he gets hungry he will eat .. I always make a meal for the family and if my children do not like what we are having or refuse to eat it they have the option to excuse themselves from the table and make a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich..
For the studing part .. well 5 is still pretty young to be actually studing .. But if you mean there is a lower consentration level than normal then this is normal .. kids go threw phases where there normal habits change .. Try and make it fun for him ... I want my children to read so I have them read for 30 min each night before bed.. When they were younger we read toghther but know they read on there own ..but chapter books are great and when we finished a book We would make a day of going out to lunch to a place of there choice and then going to the library to pick out another book ..It was something for them to look foward too as kind of a reward for completing the task .. I hope this helps and good luck.. Just don't panic kids are amazing little people that love to keep parents on there toes !!!!

For the studying section I would loosen the rains a little after all he is five. With the eating situation, try getting him involved in the meal preparation, that way he is having fun and at the same time he can feel like he has achieved something.

It could be a problem at school. Make some time to talk to teacher. Maybe your kid is being ridiculed or bullied or having trouble with classes. Food is funny for kids, because appetites can change so often, along with food jags and choices. Pop the kid a multivitamin for kids and try not to worry about it too much.

5? studying? C'mon, I'd be depressed too if you ask me to hit the books at that age. Just give him a few fun to read materials and let him play most of the time. Giving him a few choices in food and letting him help prepare food can work too. (just be careful about knives, specially the cleaver)

Five year olds need a lot of time to play- does he want to study? How much time is he studying? He could be depressed. Lack of interest is a symptom of depression in kids. Best to check with his pediatrician, have a long conversation.

could be alot of reasons why... i would need a little more detail as to be able to give you any intelligent answer...
how long has this been going on? what is he "studying/ eating"
maybe he is coming down with something...
maybe he is bored...
maybe he doesnt like what you fixed?
maybe there is something else that has his attention right now...
a new show on tv? a video game? a new friend to hang out with? a new toy/pet/person in the house?

What is a five year old "studying"?
Maybe he is on a hunger strike against being forced to grow up too fast.
Suggestion: Take a chill pill and relax!
