Is education necessary for anyone to be refined or can anyone be refined without it?

it's not necessary, but it is helpful. Education doesn't make the man, it simply makes the man smarter ( and in some cases, poorer). Even with a degree you have to have on the job training. There are two types of smarts: street smarts (common sense), and book smarts. An equal combination of both would be the most desirable.
