There is no single best camera.

I think it depends on your budget, needed features and personal taste (ergonomics, etc.). Canons are great P&S as are Panasonic (believe it or not). For a DSLR, my first choice would be Nikon with Canon being a second choice. (Assuming we are not talking real upper end like Leaf or Hassleblad)

Oplympus Sp-310 all the way. This is a really great camera. you can record videos, zoom and every picture has the best quality. It has different modes for you to choose from. You can also edit and enchance your photos on your camera. You don't need a special program. You can easily plug it into your computer, printer, or tv to share or display your photos. its a erally unique camera and I enjoy using it. If you get it, you will too. =]

i hve both a canon ixus 800 IS and casio ex-p600.... one is a prosumer another is a normal one... i would say i rather get the casio exp600 rather than the canon one.... even though canon is supposed to be superior.... i prefer to have the freedom to tweak the settings. the photo quality is great too..... i have compared, results are quite similar though..

i would recommend casio .... its cheaper than canon .they have a new model with 10 megapixel.... u may consider that..

The olympus stylus line is very good. You can choose which model depending on how much you want to spend and the quality. They go from 3mp-8mp. You can find most of them online refurbished. I have an olympus stylus 500 and it was 160 online. They have rechargable lithium batteris and are weater resistant.

I bought a Fugi...it might not be the highest quality, but it works great and takes awesome pictures. It was only $250.
