A negotiator finds what both parties wants and tries to find a middle ground. Let's say you want your boyfriend to pay for everything on all your dates, but he can't afford it. At the same time you're expecting him to pay for everything, you have a job that gives you some extra spending money. A negotiator would allow that the two of you don't want to spend any less time with each other and work out a deal where you could share the cost of dates so you spend as much time as you'd like with each other. Isn't that sweet?
