Christians don't hurt other people, you have them confused with Muslims.

Because a lot of Christians believe they are responsible to judge others, which is absolutely wrong. And if you know me, you understand that the people I nail on these websites are judgmental Christians. Because the people who Jesus treated harshly were the Pharisees who should have known better. Jesus treated the sinners compassionately. That's what we should do.

But I can't stop every judgmental person, nor can you. And there are judgmental people who are not Christians who attack Christians even worse than what a Christian will attack others.

This starts because one person attacks another on the opposite side. They feel they need to lash out at everyone.

Both sides need to stop attacking.

I think that I'm understanding where this question is coming from, because for a long time, I felt that my stepmother was using her deep Christianity to hurt me. But after I've grown up & got to thinking about it, I really believe that she never intentionally meant to hurt me. That she truly thought she was doing the right thing by "lecturing" me (which in turn made me feel like a low, worthless person). I had quit going around my dad for a long time, because my stepmother did that to me everytime I went over there. He had to have a talk with her & explain to her how she was making me feel. She said she didn't realize it & she was sorry & she stopped doing it. So if they're true Christians, I don't believe they're intentionally trying to hurt us. That's the best way I know to answer that question. I hope it's what you were looking for.

Christianity has evolved from killing people for being different to emotionaly carring people. Christianity and Islam are the most promanant militant religions. The majority from both are not harmful to anyone. Its the minority fundamentalist that do the damnage. Christian fundamentalists don't kill people because they believe murder is a sin and that they will go to hell if they commit it, but they do force their beliefs on other people and if you are a child with feeling that do fit their beliefs, it is very damnaging. Muslim fundamentalist kill people because they believe that it is their duty to kill non believers if they refuse to convert and the gonvernment doesn't stop them. I'm sure some christans would do the same if their respective governments would let them.

I am a strong Christian, and I know other Christians who are the first to judge others. They are the first to throw the stone, But I see this as a contradiction to the religion. Jesus will be the one to do the Judging. So I guess this is the same concept. Christians are human and there words are the way it is.

to hurt others?

it depends on the situation. it is not as simple as it sounds. Sometimes people who sin hearing the word "not allowed" hurt them. Sometimes evil people use religion for their own self-interest (such as politics).

Look at it this way, a religion (eg. Christianity) is merely a tool so that we can have a better life through a spiritual and personal enhancement and reflection. It is like a knife. Some people use it to cook great tasty food, but some people use it to kill others.
You can't really blame the knife. You blame whoever it is that using it incorrectly.

They are really not trying to hurt people but get you very scared to come to Chirst Jesus ... but what they are really doing is letting people not want to know Chirst Jesus... I know most people do turn away from Jesus and go to a more comfortable spiritually relgious... but you have to get to know Jesus yourself ....and remember there are two Gods Satan and Jesus .....all bad things come from Satan and all good things comes from Jesus... now most people get all angry at Jesus for all the wrong reason .... you must be very careful cause Satan can use you on this and you don't want him using you.....

Jesus wakes us all up murdersous,, rapist,, child molestors,, gays,,the hard worker to the homesless..... why so we all can change our DESTINY and or continue to work on doing the best of all good things we can do and remember if Jesus dont want us to do things we shouldn't do them why cause HEAVEN is his home and if he dont want us to be a certain way then we should change

why cause you have place to live you are not going to let just anyone come into your home right so Jesus is the same way and we should change if not then have a good time and dont be shock if Jesus say we are not welcome whos going to heaven or how many people I dont know and no ones know when is he coming back dont know but he is coming soon wheither you or others believe or

either no one knows and if they said they do then you need to leave that person alone read the bible yourself you can get the understanding and if not ask Jesus to help you understand and if you or others are doing something that is not right to jesus just be honest to him no one is perfect me or you or everyone else and YOU can CHANGE if you want to the key word is """ IF you WANT too!!!! """""""

Check your history books and read up on the Crusades, the stories of the Knights Templar (how the church betrayed them), and the fates of early astronomers who dared tell the pope that the sun did not revolve around the earth.

The Catholic church was started by men, who feared women in positions of power, and wanted to "purify" the world in a male dominated state.

The Catholic faith is nothing more than a hodge-podge of pagan ritual and celebration, integrated into a huge conglomerate that's laughable at best.

The bible says Jesus was born in the summer. Why is Christmas in the winter? Why are there no Christmas Trees in the bible? Where is St. Nicholas in holy scripture? Christmas was invented to get people to stop celebrating Yule, a pagan holiday, traditionally held on or about December 21st, the Winter Solstice.

Where in scripture does it talk about easter eggs and bunnies bringing candy to children? it doesn't. The word Easter is actually the combination of the words "Ostara" and "Ishtar", who are fertility goddesses, Norse and Babylonian respectively. Fertility rites were dedicated to them in the springtime. Easter was invented to stop this practice.

He rose on the third day? There's less than 48 hours between 3pm friday and dawn on sunday. Oops!!

Ever heard of St. Christopher, the patron saint of travel? Did you know he's not a saint anymore? God called up on the hotline and said to kick him out.

Ask any priest about the story of "Lillith", and you'll get a really dirty look. She was conviently left out of the bible. She was created from the same soil from which God created Adam in the garden of Eden. God expelled her from Eden because she wouldn't submit to Adam. Eve was then made from one of Adam's ribs, hence, a woman made from man would submit to man.

Noah's ark.... go to your local library and read up on "The Epic of Gilgamesh", an ancient text that pre-dates the bible by about 1000 years. There is a story within it's pages so similar it's eerie. The dimensions of the Arc in both stories are nearly identical.

The Davinci Code? Too contraversial, i'm not touching that one with a 10ft pole.

And for those of you who think that Islam is more agressive than catholicism, please read your history. The two faiths have the same roots.

Those who believe the Catholic church is without fault really needs to read up on history.

Several good answers here but Christianity is not a club to be used to beat people over the head. And I will oppose those whom I see doing it. But those folks who do may be new to the Christian faith and not yet aware of how to speak words that have been seasoned with salt. There are others who may have gotten lost along the way during their walk with Christ and are in pain. And still there may be others who are simply pawns of Satan who prey on all of us telling us that we are not good enough. But remember, as a Christian we are to love these people and we are to pray for them. And for those who wrong us, we are to forgive them. So don't forget that. Don't be like they are.

It's in the psychology of power, actually not limited to Christians. A fellow who's poor or rather dimwitted can more or less join with a gang of similiar folk to threaten others when they believe that God has justified them in this. Forget fine words in "holy books" (often not so fine, when examined) and look at the history of who gets power; to gets property...
What would Jesus do? Same as Hercules, I imagine ... because neither can be established as historical "flesh and blood" persons.

Lately, I have been pondering this myself. The other night I started an essay on Religious organizations being the anti-Christ. My premises is that anything that separates people from each other cannot possibly be something of Divine nature. Along with the argument that religious organizations rob people of their true authentic relationship with their creator by defining and confining their experience with the divine.
