The only dumb question is one that is NOT asked.
Some people don't know the bible all that well that is WHY they ask DUMB questions.

People would go up to Jesus all the time and ask him questions that were meant to trick him. You know what, he still answered.
If people are asking questions about Jesus and the Bible, religion, spirituality, or anything else that is philosophical, it is because they need the knowledge to make an important decision: what to base their faith on.
I am not particularly religious or follow any set religion, but even I know that by asking questions answers will be found. I would rather ask questions and be thought dumb than say nothing and continue in ignorance.

Because spiritual things are foolishness to the carnal mind. Even the Bible says that. Most questions are written in a spirit of Mockery. Such is the World.

One cannot ask an intelligent question about the bible any more than one can ask an intelligent question about an Animaniacs cartoon.
The book and cartoon exist, but a question that suggests the contents of either are depictions of reality will always be an inane question.

People are starting to wake up from the lies of all religion.
Most of them are or were Christians.
I could ask you a....non-dumb question about Jesus that you don't know the answer to.
Or you won't answer.

Some to mock or discredit, some because they don't know. What ever the question is, just give them an answer and God will reward you in heaven, hope to see you their. Remember, shun profane and vain babbling.
