Take the boy and give him a good life. I had to leave my husband (now my x) because of a drug problem and we had a 1 yr old boy. It was the hardest thing i ever had to do, but i tried for years to help him. The bottom line, there is nothing you can do, its sad, but they have to do it themselves. Leaving him and taking my son was the hardest thing i ever had to do, but the children are the most important thing!

Try to convince her to get help, she has to want help. She definatly needs to go to rehab, once she makes the commitment to go they will require her to stay until she has detoxed. As far as the little boy, do the best you can for him, be there for him he really needs it. Don't let him get lost in the system, he needs to stay with family if possible. You are definatly doing the right thing by taking him in, and it's obvious you love him and her do to this. Just explain to her that her son needs her and she needs to change her ways for him, if for anyone. If she is a mother with a heart this will mean something to her. Encourage her to move away from all old druggy friends that is the most important thing in the process of getting of of drugs and staying away, i can't stress that anymore. Goodluck!!

your aunt has to get treatment for her addiction..
treatment is not for those who need it (because there are many of those who need it )....treatment is for those who WANT IT. your aunt has to be willing to change...good luck
