I would get hooked up with the United Way in your town. They have a great network of churches and other organizations. They should be able to connect a group wanting to help with a group that needs help.

Feeding the poor is easy. Saving the unborn is a little more difficult. I think there needs to be a big movement among Christian to get involved in politics. We need to be out there registering new voters, encourages other Christians to vote and educate themselves on the issues and making our voices heard in the public arena so that eventually we can gain enough influence to stop things like abortion and gay marriage. Even more importantly, Christian parents need to be teaching their children civics and a Judeo-Christian world view.

che_leo:: Church lobbying is no different than tree-hugger lobbying, NRA lobbying, democrat lobbying or anything else. In fact, lobbying is perfectly within the law. Give up the double standard.
To answer the question:
I think that church people are too scaired to go out into the world. Jesus went to where the leppers were. He went and talked to the woman at the well and other 'lesser' people of society. We need to do that. Show Christ's love to everyone. We should encourage people to step out of their confort zone and into God's service zone.

The church can start by following the laws of this country, rather than pressuring government to change its policy based on religious belief.
As for feeding the poor, go volunteer at a soup kitchen.
It's not that hard.
Lord of Armenia, you are a drone.

The leaders and members in your local church have to get out of your air conditioned pews and get out to where the action is. While you can't do anything about the unborn, except to educate, you can feed the poor. Get your pastor to find out about local outreach programs and soup kitchens.

Things are bad enough. The churches should just stay away. They have never proved themselves is the past as organizations of good will and they are not going to change. Just stick to getting cash off people every Sunday and hoarding it.

Living human kind out there is having miscommunication and communication failures.
What they can do is to give extra knowledge not just hearsay with ghost stories on planet earth.
Start it with the lirrle children and keep track on their performance.
Instead of letting them communicating with artificial intelligence and playing computer games.
Until they became blurr when communicating with living human kind on planet earth.
